Before uploading a music video accompanying an existing song to YouTube, it is important to recognise the legalities of the process. YouTube is a streaming service, and a video which uses the name of the song and artist without the correct permission can be prosecuted and removed from the server. In this manner, I have emailed the manager of the band whose song we have taken to ask for permission to use the song for educational purposes only. Likewise, if no response returns, we will edit the name of the band in ancillary work and video upload to avoid confrontation.
